Mike Alstott Tribute Night, tampa
Mandi and I bought tickets back in September for the Bucs game Sunday night against the Seahawks. Not only was it a nationally televised game on NBC but it was Mike Alstott Tribute Night for an organization that paid tribute to easily their most loved (and my favorite) football player in team history. I had the thrill of photographing Mike for a magazine cover and article a couple of years ago and so this night was extra special for me.
It was very hard paying attention to the football game though, what with the VERY important Game 7 of the ALCS over the bridge in St. Pete between the Rays and the Red Sox. Thankfully, when the Bucs game was over they showed the final two innings of the Rays improbable victory on the jumbotron. It was awesome watching David Price do his thing against Boston and seeing the Rays move on to the World Series. The last photo is of Mandi seconds after the final out.
We will be heading down to the Trop on Wednesday evening to see Game 1 of the World Series in person as the Rays continue on in this magical summer of baseball.
